Train Travel

The northern coast is one part of Israel where train travel is both practical and scenic. As always, remember that service is interrupted Friday evening to Saturday evening. Israel Railways trains from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv travel several times a day to Netanya, Benyamina, Caesarea, Haifa, Atlit, Akko, and Nahariya. You’ll have to change trains in Tel Aviv when coming from Jerusalem.

The train line from Ben Gurion International Airport travels to Tel Aviv, Benyamina, Atlit, Haifa, Akko, and Nahariya. The trip from Tel Aviv to Haifa takes about one hour. Sunday to Thursday, trains depart every 20 minutes from 6 am until 10:30 pm; on Friday they run from 6 am until an hour before sundown. On Saturday there are four departures after 8:30 pm. Train travel from Jerusalem to Haifa is feasible only if you have plenty of time, as you have to change in Tel Aviv.
