Do you have any recommended food in London?

I’m going to London and want to experience the variety of food. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks.

Are you on a budget or are you happy to spend a lot on a meal? What sort of food do you like? Eg. Vegetarian, seafood, steaks, Indian, Italian, British?

Oh boy, a 10 million city which is famously multi-cultural and you want advice about a very vibrant thing.

what sort of food?

You could eat your way around the world in Soho/Chinatown alone.

For variety head to Browns Hotel in Albermarle Street which does the best Omelette Arnold Bennett then MacDonalds in Oxford Street for a quarter pounder (with cheese of course)

Full English breakfast to start, then pub food (fish & chips) in evening - cheap and cheerful.

Palomar and Barbary are must dos for us. Best Israeli/Barbary coast food with an upbeat vibe.

I also love Barbary, Barrafina (Spanish tapas), Koya (udon noodles) and Dishoom for Indian. It’s a very multicultural and diverse city and one of my favorite places to eat. Hungryonion.org and Eater.com will have some good London eating recommendations.

Welcome to Fodors. With all due respect to some of the other Fodorites- it's sorta kinda difficult to give any sort of useful suggestions unless/ until you tell us something/anything about what sorts of food you want ( because just about every cuisine in the world is found in London ) and your budget ( because you can spend anything from very little to hundreds of £ on a meal)

You are more likely to find a Sardinian restaurant in London than Rome or anywhere outside Sardinia. I would check out that cuisine.

If your visit covers a Sunday, you might want to partake of a traditional Sunday lunch:

“Lazy day, Sunday afternoon
Like to get your feet up, watch TV
Sunday roast is something good to eat
Must be lamb today 'cause beef was last week
So full up, bursting at the seams
Soon you'll start to nod off, happy dreams
Wake up, for tea and buttered scones (It's such a crying shame)
Such a lot of work for you, Sunday moms (Week after week the same)”
