Three nights in August - Valencia or Seville??
Hi - We are travelling in Spain at end of August and have three nights to spend between our first stop in Madrid and last stop in Barcelona. Initially planned to spend those nights in Seville but worry about the heat and things for the kids to do (we are travelling with two children - 9 & 12 and my mother). A friend (and native of Spain) suggested Valencia as a good stop between the two cities since it has both the beach and city. We are travelling by train. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which? I think after being in a big city like Madrid, may be nice to be along the coast but still really want the sightseeing (we like to wander around and see the markets and shops). After this stop, we are spending five nights in Barcelona and I know we get the beaches there too (is Valencia too much like Barcelona?)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes, it will be very warm in Sevilla and all of inland Andalucia. I'd go with Valencia. Miles of beaches plus good food and wine. And no, Valencia isn't anything like Barcelona.

So, you're thinking of visiting Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona ? It's a shame to miss Andalucia, but, yes, Valencia has the beach for the children. Everywhere will be hot in August, but they'll be able to cool off in the sea, and you get to sightsee, shop, whatever. Go for it !
