Munich - vacation apartment rental, week after Christmas
We have six adults traveling to Munich arriving 12/26 to 1/3. We would like to rent a nice apartment or similar with 3-4 bedrooms and I am having trouble finding any rental agencies which specialize in this. The usual VRBO, HomeAway, etc. don't have much. We would like something a bit upscale and near public transport. We would consider outside of the city if appropriate, but do not know the area. Any suggestions?

If you can speak German, two excellent sources are www.fewo-direkt.de. OR www.fewo24.de/muenchen-inland.html.
Of course, you already know that "Ferienwohnung" is vacation apartment, and Munich is Muenchen, for further google searches....

Fewo-direkt lists 17 results with 6 having 3 or more bedrooms, ranging in price (for one week) from 1261-6532 Euros. Most of the owners speak English, so it might be worth scrolling through the listings (plenty of pics). If you find one you like, make contact for details. Sure wish you can speak german

Thank you for your suggestion. I did look at this site using Google translate, and have forwarded it to a family member who does speak German. Any areas of the city you would recommend we should stay in or avoid?

I was looking for apartments in Munich too,as we are 4 pax travelling together.Did find a few,but eventually decided we would be better off in a B&B/hotel.Some where close to the Hauptbahnhof and altstadt for convienence.
These were some of the sites I looked into.

Hope this helps.
I was also enlightened by a kind fodorite,in one of my earlier queries,in Germany, they refer to a 2 bedroom apt, it would mean a single room and a living room( which is considered a bed room ).

Hi,
Let me clarify a bit what inquest says above--
Apartments will be listed as 2-room or 3-room, etc. Since a living room is a "room," a 2-room apartment is a 1-bedroom apartment, and a 3-room apartment is a 2-bedroom apartment, etc.
So, don't be confused between the terms "room" vs. "bedroom."
Have fun as you plan!
