If you are looking for a good restaurant in Lisbon..

I had a really fine dinner at Bistro 100 Maneiras restaurant in Barrio Alto a few nights ago.
It is not inexpensive, but everything I had was excellent.
The service was very attentive which I have come to appreciate when dining alone..

Thanks Danon.

Where are you staying? I may go to Lisbon in a few months.

I just got back yesterday from four nights in Madrid and four in Lisbon.
In Lisbon, I stayed a bit away from the very centre in Modern City near Parque Eduardo VII.
I was traveling alone, wanted a comfortable hotel with a big room. And in my price range.
I found an excellent rate for Tiara Park Atlantic. - 110 euros for a 5 star hotel!
It is a few minutes from a metro station , 3 stops to the very centre. Often, I just walked down the
lovely Avenida Liberdade. Also, I had a glimpse of a very nice , residential part of Lisbon and a view of the beautiful park. The hotel is part of a chain, big, excellent service, quiet at night.
Not everyone's "cup of tea" , but worked for me.
The city was full of tourists...mid-Oct. seems to be very popular. The 4 star hotels in the centre were either more expensive or the rooms were small ( I get claustrophobic).
It was my first visit to Lisbon, I liked it very much.

Thanks Danon, I've heard good things about the Tiara Park so your comments validate it. Glad you had a good time!

I am not familiar with prices in Portugal, but I thought it reasonable for such a good restaurant and a well known chef.
The bill was about 50euros ( I was alone )including an appetizer ,a glass of wine, the main course, ice cream and coffee.
I am sure one can spend more depending on the wine, before and after dinner drinks, selection of the main
course etc.
I also had dinner at Cantinho do Avillez , found neither the food nor the atmosphere special.

That sounds reasonable. We opted for the tasting menu and had several delicious wines. One was a white port that was fabulous. Thus we paid a fair amount, perhaps equal to a good meal inDC. Overall in Portugal we found very good meals very reasonable.

I had dinner at the Bistro 100, you might have been at the original100.
The second one is more expensive.

I notice that a glass of wine in Lisbon was always more than in Spanish cities.
Had white port in one of the cafés...very nice.
